Your personal information — name, email, account details, flash session data — lives in a separate, encrypted environment from any optional research data. Your voice notes stay on your device via Memory Vault™ and never reach our servers. If you opt into a research study, only an anonymous identifier is shared — never your name, email, or other personally identifiable information. No data moves between these environments without your affirmative, explicit consent.
FLASHYAF™ operates as a Vendor of Personal Health Records under the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule (16 CFR Part 318). In the event of a breach affecting 500+ users, we will notify affected individuals without unreasonable delay and no later than 60 days after discovery, and will notify the FTC at the same time.
Your account data is retained for 90 days after cancellation, during which you can export your complete flash history. After 90 days, it is permanently deleted. Any anonymous research data you contributed cannot be linked back to you and remains in an isolated research database for the duration of the approved study only.
Pioneer Member pricing is locked for exactly 24 calendar months from the public launch date. This is not a lifetime rate. Existing subscribers receive advance notice before any pricing change and may cancel before it takes effect, without penalty.
Research participation is always voluntary, requires separate consent from your subscription, and is revocable at any time in Settings with no effect on your account or pricing.
